Our
Mission The mission of New Heights Center is to create an
opportunity for adults and/or children to develop multi-sensory
abilities to self-direct, self-check, and self-correct their
performance in executive function skills, reading, spelling, comprehension, and/or math.
Through the intensive stimulation and strengthening of cognitive
learning PATHWAYS, the client acquires life skills, which
measurably enhance academic and work place performance. Learning
success enhances self-esteem and actualizes the client's
potential. In additon we are now providing Business Consulting Services for small businesses similar to our own. If interested please contact us. Dyslexia Intervention / Cognitive Development Programs We provide specific programs to individuals ages 6 through 60
in the Lindamood Bell Learning Processes® along with programs in Fast ForWord®.,
Phono-Graphix®, and the comprehension skills presented in the text
Mosaic of Thought by Keene & Zimmerman with Comprehension Connections by McGregor. Learning strengths and
weaknesses are determined by pre-testing at New
Heights or from previous testing. From the assessments,
New Heights may recommend one program or a
combination of the programs, which will best strengthen the
learning weakness(es) of the prospective client. |

About The
Director: M. Therese(Terry) Kelly, BA, MLA, Ed. Therapist
M. Therese Kelly serves as Director and President of New
Heights Center, 1991 to Present. A practicing Educational Therapist and a Scientific Learning Provider, she earned her
bachelor's degree in secondary education at Xavier University in
Cincinnati, Ohio. Her graduate degree in Liberal Arts, with a
concentration in behavioral sciences, was awarded from Johns
Hopkins University. She holds an Advanced Professional
Certification from the Maryland State Board of Education,
and she has taught in secondary schools in the Baltimore area,
including Mt. St. Joseph High School and Mercy High School, as well
as in Norfolk, Virginia. Her board experience includes The Shelter, Mercy High School, Mt. St. Agnes Theological Center for Women. and presently serves on The Family Support Link serving families with children with PDD and/or autism. Ms. Kelly was trained to provide the
Lindamood Bell Learning Processes® by Phyllis Lindamood at the
Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes® Center in San Luis Obispo,
California. Ms. Kelly was designated a Fast ForWORD® provider after completing training and attending the Scientific
Learning conference in San Antonio, Texas. She is Phono-Graphix® certified since 1999 and Audiblox® affirmed in 2009.
